Humanists Too - AA Meeting

  • Krumville Community Meeting House 1242 County Road 2 Olivebridge, NY, 12461 United States (map)

Humanists Too is a meeting of open hearts and open minds. Here you may exercise your individual form of spiritual experience in a tradition of free expression. We do not endorse atheism nor oppose it. We do not oppose any form of religion or endorse it. Our only wish is to assure suffering alcoholics that they can achieve sobriety in AA without having to conform to anyone else's beliefs or having to deny their own.

The only requirement for membership in AA is a desire to stop drinking. Humanism, simply stated, is the belief that human beings can resolve human problems through reason, compassion and common sense and to help one another. It is up to us to accept the responsibility to give shape and meaning to our lives. Please respect the anonymity of those present and leave whom you see and what you hear behind when you leave. Each meeting must be self-supportive through its own contributions. We will share personal accomplishments within the group and celebrate togetherness.

From AA’s co-founder Dr. Bob:

“None of us would be here today if someone hadn’t taken the time to explain things to us, to give us a little pat on the back, to do numerous little kind and thoughtful acts on our behalf. So let us never get such a degree of smug complacency that we are not willing to extend or attempt to extend to our less fortunate brothers and sisters that help which has been so beneficial to us.”
